How Sonder works
Sonder is deterministic, not random in the loose sense. The same name on the same date produces the same reading, so the result can feel playful without changing every time you refresh.
The daily seed
The current reading is seeded from your cleaned first name, the app's default month and color anchors, and today's date. The ritual questions shape the pace, transition text, and orb color memory, while the final numbers come from that daily seed.
Because the date is part of the seed, your reading can change tomorrow. Because your name is part of the seed, different people can land on different stats on the same day.
Stats
Why the numbers feel dramatic
Each stat is generated by drawing two values from 0 to 100, keeping the one farther from 50, then adding a small nudge and clamping the result between 1 and 100. That makes the stats less flat and gives each day a stronger shape.
Luck
A chance-facing read on momentum, timing, and small openings.
Love
A connection-facing read on tenderness, patience, and social signal.
Money
A practical read on security, decisions, and material steadiness.
Energy
A body-and-drive read on charge, fatigue, and follow-through.
Rarity
How the tier is chosen
Rarity rewards intensity. Sonder looks at the highest stat, the spread between highest and lowest, and how far the average sits from the middle. Extreme or uneven readings are more likely to become Rare, Epic, Legendary, or Mythic.

Anything below the Rare threshold.
Rare
Score of 84.45 or higher.
Epic
Score of 91.35 or higher.
Legendary
Score of 97.5 or higher.
Mythic
Score of 100.8 or higher.
Lucky signs
Number, color, advice
Lucky number
Picked from 1 to 99 using the same daily seed after the four stats are created.
Lucky color
Taken from the strongest original stat: Amber for Luck, Coral for Love, Emerald for Money, or Azure for Energy.
Advice
Matched to the reading's tone: encouraging, cautionary, mysterious, or neutral.
Hidden events and streaks
Hidden event copy uses the same tone as the reading, but streak unlocks are separate. Returning on future days opens extra messages at 3, 7, 14, and 30 day streaks.
